| Description: |
Because superline fishing is here to stay, Berkley designed their Lightning Rod Shock Series Spinning Rods to give anglers a rod specifically designed to handle today's superlines. The Lightning Rod Shock Series Rod's 1K Power Helix construction creates extra strength with a lightweight feel, and the Strike Amplifying Tip (S.A.T) blends fiberglass with graphite to produce for a slower-reacting tip that results in fewer lost fish. Diamond-polished aluminum oxide guides reduce friction, decrease wind knots and other line management issues while remaining lightweight and tough. The Lightning Rod Shock Rod Series also feature a split-grip design that delivers more sensitivity and better balance with less weight, and a suspending reel seat keeps the reel from hampering vibration, ensuring maximum sensitivity.
Features:
- Designed specifically for superline fishing
- Diamond-polished aluminum oxide guides
- 1K Power Helix
- Strike Amplifying Tip (S.A.T.)
- Split-grip design
- Suspending reel

Good But Not Great, October 16, 2009
By BubbaJay from Mc Leansville, NC
|
Advantages: Style/Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: Performance
"I bought one of these rods to be my back-up spinning set for fishing weightless senkos. I used the rod one day and it did a good job but it lacks some of the feel of better rods. I was not able to sense the slight pick ups the way I can in my more senstive rods. It does have a good backbone. I would say it works well if you are on a budget and not willing to spend over a hundred bucks for the high end rod."

Great purchase, September 28, 2009
By lve4lmb from Schroon Lake,NY

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: guide tip needs to be titanium
"This rod has excellent back bone and tip action and does all it says it would. My only negative is I wish the tip eye was different. Like the one that was on the original spider wire rods made years ago that was a molded plastic style, titanium inside giude. Other than that the rod is all as good as my $150.00 rods for braid."

"One of the best fishing investments I have ever made. For a $50 rod, the Shock Series has the feel of rod's 3-4x the price. The sensitivity is unbelievable. After this purchase, I know exactly what to get my dad for x-mas."
